My zoas Are closed up!!! How do I get them to open up??

No pests and I'm dripping lugols daily ! So how do I get them to open up again ?

What are water parameters? Did you change anything? How long have they been closed?

Are they ALL closed or just certain ones?

My Parameters are good and it's just a few of em , of course it's the nicer ones that are bulbed up lol but I heard of people dipping them in iodine dips or rodi dips , does any of this help?? It's about two months or so that I set up my tank

How long have they been closed?? I have 007's that sometimes will be closed for a couple days, and even my blue hornets close up for a day sometimes...

Some of mine were starting to close, and like you the nicer ones. I started using some of the zeovit additives and in a couple days all open and multiplying, been open for a couple months now everyday.

What kind of lights do you have? Are they placed high in your tank? I have had zoas close down because of too much light...

Check for nudibranchs that might be irritating them too.

There debting on who will become the best zoa in your tank lol . But on a real note check your water maybe your no4 might be really high.

Well my zoas are in the lower part of my tank and they are not exposed to heavy current , somehow they just closed up and never opened , just bulbs!!! But I got others that are wide open!!! It's aggravating!!

I got the answer for u..best thing to do is bring them to my house.. They will open up.

Are you testing for this?
Perhaps your more sensitive zoas are not liking all of that iodine?

I'm actually dripping as recommended and a bit under if u ask me, but what about dipping them?? Is that a possibility that may work? Also I wanted to thank u Kathy, my royal gramma is perfect again without any medication

i'm having the same problem with my rastas and chong bongs been closed for like 2 weeks . water par are perfect. all my other corals even sps are doing great

I noticed when a few of mine closed that there were some aptasia in the area that were irrtating them. Maybe something close by that you can't easily see?

I checked , I even moved them!! But nothing on them except a ton of pods lol

Zoas are probably one of the more finicky corals in our tanks doing strange things for no apparent reason. I find that the zoas considered 'deep-water' just melt away eventually in my tanks along with some of the other exotic ones
The best success i have had is holding them in front of a strong powerhead for a few minutes and then putting them into a higher flow area. They will either finally open (give it some time) or finish melting away.
