Chill Out Cheap

$16 - 12v Adapter at radio Shack
$8 - 3" Aluminum bar from Home depot
$10 - Stainless nuts and bolts from Home Depot
$10 - 2 5" Computer Fans
$9 - Timer (actually this was an old one I had lying around)

Generally speaking, my tank temp doesn't go above 82 degrees. this is because all my hardware is in my basement.

However, during humid days, my temp can rise to 83. I used to have a $20 clip on fan that would run and run and run.

As you can see from the pictures below, I set the time to go on for 2 hours and off to 2 hours at specific intervals. I also set it to ON an hour before my halides go on and an hour after they go off to keep the tank cool.

Took me all of an hour to build, is cheap and runs lean on electric.
