Thanks dude.
That favia has 10 times that many sweepers. It's hard to tell, but those sweepers are only extending from the left side. When the whole thing is extending them it looks like a swaying pin cushion :bigeyes2:

In another 2 years your Sarcophyton's can join mine in the Atalntis 20,000g. reef as matching underwater couches:) Randy

LMAO.....It's already much too overpowering for my little 75. I wish there was a way to frag it while still in the tank. I figure I can easily get 75 frags from it. Problem is, it's attached to a rock that's on the very bottom of my aquascape. Not sure what I'm gonna do. It is a major headache already.

By the time two more years rolls around, Atlantis will need a 40,000g tank for BOTH of our sarco's. :lol2:

I feel your pain. Joe Y. said he can literally lay down in mine now!!! I think you can slowly frag yours right in the tank, just make sure you run fresh carbon to deal with the toxins. RD

It's such a weird mixed emotion. We have success in the hobby, with the ability to provide an environment for a coral like this to totally thrive, and we treat it like an intruder! How is that right?

Anyway, on to the more important issue. I was under the impression that the 'right' way to frag a sarco like this is to put it upside down ('mushroom' down) on a cutting board or glass and use a very sharp razor or scalpel and run a circle around the top. In effect, making a large donut. Then slice the donut into little squares. Put all frags into a SEPARATE container with fresh tank water.

Fragging it in the tank in the above fashion seems radical and prone to huge amounts of toxins being released. Each of the two heads is now about 14" in diameter. Just too unruly.

What's your thoughts?

Thanks for the insight here.
