what are MR members thoughts on acclimation boxes

Built great. I think they work by helping to minimize stress.

Truthfully acclimating is so situational for me.

I really tend to just temp acclimate. Most of my additions come from local tanks with the same general chemistry of my tank and are transferred within 10-15 minutes.

When i do internet orders they normally arrive in fouled water and i feel the additional acclimation period would just stress them even more. Especially a box that's located on the side of a tank which allows them to get a glimpse of a place to hide. They tend to struggle even more..

causing more stress..

when i do, i choose a small bucket over an acclimate-r.

I drilled a few extra holes in a ~$10 Petco 'pet keeper' and it's worked fine!...would not add new fish, without it!
