Have white sand looking substance

i have this white sand looking substance growing in my tank any ideas what it is and how to get rid of it?

You really need to give more information that what you did. We need pics or a much much better description... It may be some sand on your rock that got blow from a pump, or can be something that needs to be dealt with.

So just a simple question that you asked really will not work.

Yes stuck to glass like lil dots definitely not blown sand will take pics

I knew it.... Those are little crustaceans that are basically the first form of a tube worm....

Clean your glass

Salt residue cause you are mixing salt directly into your tank.

I agree to clean your glass. Are they hard? What size are the specks, like tiny grains of sand?

i think they are probably small hard tube worms like already said.
Many years ago i asked someone the same question and theyre response was "youre tank is maturing, youre doing something right"
but they can get kinda crazy so i would clean it off
just my two cents

clean it off glass the are very fine but it seems to be getting on everything and comes back a few days after i clean it
