Help Apex EB 8 not working....

Hello MR, I just set up my Apex lite last night after having it for two months(long story w/ broken fingers).

The problem I'm having is the EB 8 keeps going from flashing green led to solid green led. Not sure why it's doing that but could someone please help me out on this. I don't really know what to do, I'm lost when it comes to programming these new controllers. Thanks, Danny.

Do you have one EB8? Silly question, but it is plugged properly into the main unit with the the USB cable? Did you try to plug the USB into another port on the unit??

Def a connection error, But I am more thinking of a connection of EB8 to the Head unit... You dont need to have it online. If the Head unit was flashing I would think Ethernet conenction. But the EB8 is flashing...

I am thinking bad aquabus cable!

Yes I only have one EB 8, I tried moving the USB around to other port and same thing happens. I can't even control the outlets from my head unit or my Itouch.

Can you access the EB8 from the web display? I think you should try a new aquabus cable....

You said that you tried to move to the other port, did you try another port on the Head unit???

How do I access it from the web? And where do I get a new aqua bus cable?

Oh boy..... To be able to control with your phone/itouch/computer it has to "work".

First thing that you need to do is to contact Neptune and ask them about the flashing light. I think that I may be correct and they may tell you the same and just send you a new wire. You can also try to pick up a usb cable that is male on both ends i think that you need to find a passive USB cable.

There is no use trying to control something that is not working...

This is ridiculous, I un plug the EB 8 from the wall outlet. The status led stays solid green for about 2 min then it starts to blink green again. The Head unit status led stays solid green, and the Ethernet led is solid yellow.

Forget the Head unit and the ethernet. Your issue is the EB8 connection...
Can you even see the EB8 with the display? I can't tell you how, I have the display but I don't use it at all, everything through phone or computer.

You need to try a new wire, or just call neptune (408) 578-3022 but the are in California. So gotta wait a few hours.

When you finally get the eb8 working and want to configure for network use lemme know I can help out with that..

Sure. lemme know how it goes with Neptune. And if you want help to configure the network settings, I would remote into your computer. Have done a bunch of them already

There phone support is busy????? Yet two hrs ago I could get right through...

If the status LED is blinking green it's not receiving commands from the base module, you'll need to connect it to a network and check the program or via the display.

There was a bunch that went out that need firmware updates to get the modules to communicate. You need to just call Neptune. Have the unit hooked up to computer and they will check it via remote desktop.
They will also setup your port forwarding etc

I had firmware issues with mine new out of box. 20 min on phone and works flawless

Ok Neptune support helped me out. They said it was something about one unit communicating faster then the other....all I heard was " bla bla bla".

Every outlet on the EB 8 is controllable. Just have a few other things to program now... Email alert , safety, I/O breakout.

You can bet I'll be on the phone with them again...lol
