The Sunpod, which fits right on the top with the supplied legs, is the 150 watt version, using a DE Phoenix 14K bulb. There is a nice blue cast with the bulb, it did take about 2 to 3 weeks of burning in the bulb to get the full brightness. I have some frags I bought from another reefer, they have all kept their polyps and show some growth, although its only been 3 weeks. I have three SPS colonies I bought locally, they have retained their color and show some growth. I took a few pic's for you today, it really looks a lot better in person with the correct color spectrum.

nyreef, you use a full glass cover your tank, the one that came with it?

Aquaclear filter and what type of skimmer.

Anything you would do different?/

Hi simike,

I use one panel of the top glass cover that came with the tank. You have to have something between the light fixture and the water, so the one panel lets plenty of air in and heat out. The Sunpod has a really nice fan that keeps it cool, I clean the salt creep off the cover glass each week when I do the water change. Your cube should have the two part glass top, you can pull out each segment to use under the light of your choice, never run a light without some kind of protection. I leave the black plastic on the edge of the glass segment as the edges are rough on the Oceanic glass tops. By the way, those pic's I took really stink as the flash washed out the colors, the light and the tank look so much better, I wish you could see for yourself. I use an Aquaclear 700 filter and Aqua C Remora skimmer for filtration and water movement, as well as either two Maxijet 900 with Hydorflo fittings, or the Zoo Med powersweeps that are in there now. I use a Won Brothers digital titanium heater also, its great. I have a sump which will replace the Aquaclear filter, there is a compartment that will hold the Chemipure and Purigen, and the Aquz C Urchin in-sump skimmer. I'd use these same items again, I waited a while for the sump, now its time to use one as my bio-load is higher.

I tried that Chiefmcfuz, but the pic looked all blue and dark. I wanted to take a fast pic so I didn't get into changing all the parameters on the camera, but when I have more time I will. It really looks sooooooooo much better then that picture. The first pic is more like it looks, although there was some flash too.
