Tom may be right but I've seen Diamond gobies as well as other sand sifting gobies have pretty extreme territorial issues. Some gobies are more prone to fighting than others.

I sold a sand sifter to a customer and it would attack any fish that was anywhere near it's burrow. It attacked Gold-striped Maroon clowns, orange shoulder tang, blue hippo tang and others aggressively. I was surprised to hear about it, but they loved him anyway and kept him. The mandarin won't fight but it may get "it" handed to him. Then again, they may live in peaceful harrmony together.

Can someone that has these exact 2 fish in their 90g or similiar chime in on this?

I think they would be OK since they essentially eat through different methods. The mandarin swims all over the water column and the diamond is going to remain on the sand. I have a YWG and 2 mandarins and they were fine in my 75, now in my 150.
I think you would have problems if you were to try a diamond and YWG.
