I dont know if it does... its been off and on, like one day i would see it, and the other day it would be completely gone... i dont even know if its ick. I have 3 clowns, 2 chromis and a yellow tang.. but today was just tooo much. My tang has so many white dots all over him.. i saw him scrape his body on the sand.. -.- saw the chromis like help him scratch, scraped its body on the tang... idk what I should do, the tang eats and does everything normally. all my other fish is all fine. Its been together for almost a month and ive seen this white dots the 3rd day i got it..

With tangs being rather high strung fish, they always seem to be the ones that catch the ich. You could QT him and treat him with copper, but that may just cause more stress than is needed to your tank. Your tang can live with ich and so can your system. Just make sure he keeps eating like he is. Perhaps you want to go out and get some vitamin c and Garlic Guard to soak his food in? Just to make sure he keeps eating. I had a sailfin with on and off ich and I was able to mostly suppress the ich with this method.

Few things you can do. One start lowering salinity slowly. Bring it down to 1.12. Second you can remove him and treat him in hospital tank. Third do nothing and hope he can fight it off. I highly think so but once the heavy breathing comes it might be to late to treat him. You must have LR but if you don't or you want to remove it than treat the tank. You didn't mention size of your tank. I like fresh water dip but putting him back in same tank is worth less. I treated my potter with fresh water dip and some copper. Hard fish to adapt but living over 2yrs now. Sometimes doing nothing works but most of time you must do something.

If you're going to do Hypo you need to bring the SG down to 1.008-009, but you can't do this in the main tank if you have inverts and corals, as they will die. It's best to treat in a separate tank and leave the main tank empty of fish for 8 to 10 weeks. If you plan on treating with copper you need to get a test kit, as if you treat at the wrong level it will have no effect on the ich. The same with Hypo, you need to make sure the SG is correct, so a refractormeter should be used. Also, fresh water dips don't have any effect on ich.

Hypo every tank b4 going into dt... I consider myself a tang expert.. (I guess that's s strong statement) but I love them and never had luck over 10 yrs ago listening to comments such as stress causes it and it's like a cold! Lmao! After much research.. ( I will keep this simple) hypo each and every tang.. I even did it to my achillies.. I always offer any amount of money that u can't scare my fish or cause them ich... if u don't introduce it, it won't appear.. This is why I qt every damn thing I get from corals to whatever... It's a life saver! Good luck!
