How to get rid of hydroid

My hydroids are growing out of hand. Need to do something soon. Already have a copperband and peppermint shrimps which are not doing anything. Taking the rocks out is my last resort but it is easier to say than done when you have a 36" tall tank and large rocks. Besides, it will kill the rocks to some extend and cause ammonia spike and so fore. Any biological means to get rid of them?

Where do your hydroids predominantly grow? Can you get a pic? Is it on rocks? Or is it on your sps itself. I will try to dig up the thread on RC. I dont know if there is a solution or not. A lot of wild sps colonies or ones that have been cultured in the ocean have hydroids on them. Here is a comon one in our tanks that does not bother the sps too much even though they are a pest.

Look at the polyp looking tentacles on the sps.

another beautiful vid. they are a bit of an eyesore but hey at least you know for sure your rock is Live:biglaugh: . maybe deanos can chime in for hydroid predators.

Ive tried to nuke them with kalk ,they just boucne back and reappear ,dont waste your time ,,you have a reef tank ,get use to it ,as you will have new finding of life every week ,,as long as tey dont bother other corals ,think of it like this ,your tank is doing GOOD !!!
