No need to address one person for information. This is a forum & everyone can assist, as they already did.

That is Majano.
They are pest, just as Aiptasia.
You bought from the same guy that I bought my piece from. I stayed away from the rest because they were infested.
I had only 2 on my rock & I kalked them. They haven't returned.

Kalk & the "Stop Aptasia" will work, but you can only do a few at a time.

If everyone posted a link for questions, would we really even need Manhattan Reefs. Just go Google.

Regarding the un-called for comment on posting links:
I do it as well & it does help. It brings different perspectives & opinions from different sources. It also lets a person read more about the subject in depth, sometimes what is not given here.
Sometimes the same question is repeated constantly & senior members seem to bypass answering (myself included).

Also be advised that I usually post links to questions, regarding information & disussions that already took place on our own forum.
A feature called the "SEARCH" button on the top tab.....that is ignored by many members.

Yes, we would still need ManhattanReefs. If you haven't noticed, this board is way more than just answering questions.
It's sharing personal experiences, opinions, techniques & knowledge.
Not only that, but it's a community & family.


Not in one post did I see Jon (or anyone for that matter) say they were "right." Moderator or not.
Why bring in the title?
Everyone posted & expressed their opinions on how they feel.
Let the person asking the question, take it for what it's worth & decide themselves.

Scarf, I think you said you kalked and stuff already, Pep shrimp are hit and miss they have to be in the mood and eat too many other things like Zoanthids and other corals so they might not eat the pest anemone's but your prized corals LOL. Go get some joes juice and nuke the pest anemone's 1 rock at a time go slow and make sure you get them all ok? Good luck.

Remember baby pep shrimp and baby camelback shrimp are very similar in looks and some LFS don't look so hard when they come in too. Pep and Camelback decimated a rock of yellow polyps on me, Jim has a Camel, and the pep went back to the LFS.

We've already got one mod who posts a link to every question posted. If everyone posted a link for questions, would we really even need Manhattan Reefs. Just go Google. I understand that i may have been out of line for calling you guys wrong, but being a moderator doesn't mean you are always right. I only speak from experience when a question is asked. I do not post links which sometimes have misleading/vague information.

Very rarely do I get serious, but the comment you posted does offend me and many others on the site. Dean posts useful links 99% of the time so people have something to refer to. You are right about the fact that mods are not always right. Mods are invited to become mods because we have a certain degree of experience and willingness to donate a lot of time to read and check every post. Surely there are plenty of people with more experience. And no we do not have to agree with them either. Thats why this place is called a forum. Half the time we all dont even agree with the experts. Its all just an opinion. Its up to the user to either take the advice or not. There have been many threads on BB vs DSB. Is any of the methoids wrong? No, they both work. Aiptaisa? Do what works for you. Anyone here is just posting whats on their mind. No one is god or the police.

But the one thing you will remember is:

I will not tollerate personal attacks such as the above. You can joke around posts all the opinions you want, once it gets offensive you can and will get booted.
