Skimmer questions

OK i narrowed it down to these two which should i choose for my 180. Reef Octopus 8 (250 Gallon) In Sump Pinwheel Protein Skimmer w/ Bubble Plate or Coralife 300 Cone Protein Skimmer. Answer soon i have to order soon. Both sound great but i like the head of the reef octopus has the easy remove from the bottom which u can attach a hose and drain into something.

I wouldn't buy either one. There is a skimmer thread on here and also a HUGE skimmer thread on reefcentral that will answer any skimmer question you could possibly have

The two best skimmers in the market today IMHO with price to performance ratio are

Reef Octopus Cone Series
SWC Skimmers.

I would not even bother with any other brand/type ..

Good Luck, it is always a touch one to decide on skimmer.

EINTHEC i called the person who makes the Itech skimmers.he is not going into production any time soon. i asked about the near future and he told me he doesnt see it happening

SWC is a decent skimmer but the owner is a complete dirtbag. I'm amazed these still get recommendatios.

well taht is crazy and i def wouldnt buy his products. I believe i found what i am going with and its Reef Octopus 8" Recirculating Skimmer. I am having fish only and no live rock. just artificial inserts. should be plenty for the 180 tank.
