I recently purchased a fragging kit and it came with some coralline colored reef epoxy. It says right on the tube will have no affect on your protein skimmer.

Biggest BS I have ever read because It is 3 days later and I still can't turn my skimmer on because it just overflows. I am working on some eggcrate now so I can possibly raise the skimmer up and lower the level in the skimmer.

I love this kit but really wish it didn't come with this stupid epoxy.

Put your skimmer on the lowers setting it can go and it will skim out the epoxys effect in an hour then adjust the skimmer through the day.when I use epoxy I make sure all my frags get attached that day I don't want to go through that every week

Thanks guys for the replies. I usually use gel glues however I had some pretty big sps colonies that were already mounted to nice size rocks and needed to attach those with putty. I hate the fact that my fish are swimming around in there own poo for 3 days.

I find mixing the epoxy out of water, and minimal changes in the surface of the epoxy (put the frag on the epoxy first out of water, then get it right the first time in attaching the epoxy to live rock) will help minimize the skimmer from overflowing.

Epoxy isn't too sticky, so people are generally molding it a lot while in the tank water. A way around this is to use a little bit of IC Gel between the frag and epoxy, and again between epoxy and live rock you're attaching it to.
