Ok I have a bad out break for the last 2 months now of cyanobacteria I think for the most part and what someone else has told me it is. I have tried doing 5 gal water changes every other day and nothing. I have used chemi clean and nothing. I am syphoning most of it out before doing a water change and still nothing. I removed my bio pellets for a few and nothing(they are still off line) I added some calupra algae nothing yet. Ok so alittle about my tank spec to help out with some of the questions I know will be asked;

I have a 45gal cube with a 40 breeder sump,
48 bulb DIY Led light system,
a calcium reactor
no carbon
no GFO
had bio pellets there off line for now
my skimmer is off line due to the chemi clean
I will try and post some up to date numbers for my parameters
My TDS meter is reading 0

Ok any advice will be appreciated. TYVM in advance.

Despite what others may say, I had the same issue for a month or so and what I did was leave my tank lights off except for a brief 20 min period for feedings .
I did this for 4 days and it slowly deminished entirely and with phosban running and a strict food regulation I overcame cyano entirely .....
Everyone has a method to getting rid of cyano and get ready to hear all the pros come out with a full google rundown about cyano lol .
Hope this helps

1 + do a water change before and after lights. They like the light so turning off the lights for 3-4 days will take care of the problem, gfo also helps.

You can also syphon some out if its that bad.

I'd shut the lights off for three full days. If its cyano you can use red slime algae remover, which actually works great and I am the kinda guy hesitant to put anything in the tank. Looks like dino though, which is different from cyano. I have never had dino, but my understanding is the most effective remedy is shutting the lights off completely for 3 days. Maybe some others could sound off too.

Do a few small water changes over the next few days. 5 gallons every other day should help. After a week test your water and see what your parameters are. Run some carbon and lower your light cycle as advised.
