By-Pass Filter Housing

Anyone use one of these to filter their water? One other MR'er had mentioned this to me & I would like to know if anyone else is using this & how well it's working for you?

I will have to run 1" line into 3/4, just wondering if it can handle the flow? I have about 600GPH flowing into sump now.

Also this MR'er mentioned that he was able to get the 10" filter for something like $1/unit off ebay, but could not find the link. Anyone know where to find these?

I would imagine that there would be some back pressure not only on the line reduction but also from the filter itslef.

Yea, does not seem possible, but I am looking for someone out there who can prove me wrong

Basically I am looking for something I can filter with for at least 1 week at a time & cheap enough to dispose of. I have tried the 100 micron filter socks, but they clog in 3-4 days & sometimes sooner. Then you have to wash them out.

Fast, it would seem to me that the bypass filter would require and additional valve on your RO/DI system - I have an RO bypass built into my system so that I can make water for my house drinking, but it isn't plumbed into the house. I lug-jugs like a madman all the time.

Not sure if that helps or not, but the RO bypass with this unit attached would seem to work, just not as fast as a faucet etc,

It's my understanding that this unit would be used inline with the drain line on the tank. THis way all detritus would be filtered out and all you would have to do is swap out the filters.

it would seem to me that iof you restricted your drain, you wou'dn't get the appropriate performance out of your system - many people put the drain water into their washing machine
