mini maxi carpet

I recently added one to my tank and it was the size of a dime. A beautiful red little carpet and not cheap either. Well i placed it high on the rock and for 3 days all is well. Come home from work and even though its small as a dime, i knew it was missing. GONE!!! My question is will i ever see it again? This stinks...i had rbta disappear/reappear but it was quite large, this guy is sooooooooo small. I hope one day i look into my tank and its showing itself once again...nice red carpet.

Mine shrinks in and i could barely see him. Hes about 4" big. Then he opens up later. I placed him low. Hope this helps

the thing is i don't know if he moved via his foot, just let go and wandered the water column or was eaten (doubt it, never know). I did find a red looking blob (very small) but it doesn't resemble the original specimen in the rocks. Is yours on the rocks or in the sand?

On a rock I got him that way and he never moved.
