RO membranes and fungus

I just changed out my RO membrane and decided to cut it open only to find fungus spores throughout the membrane!
To the best of my recollection it is about 3 years old I regularly flush the membrane and pre filters are replaced on a regular basis
I'd say my system produces at least 20 GPD ( 150GPD mebrane) we use it to drink and cook with along with my tank.

I am going to make it a habit now of changing the membrane more often!

So..this is common for 'well water' systems?...If TDS (out) is 0... could the membrane still be 'fouled'
