There's a huge thread about bayer as a dip on rc if anyone is interested but it does work I don't use anything else. Just rinse the frag thoroughly after the dip especially sps as they slime up using bayer

I Googled Bayer advanced coral dip and this is what I found. are these the proper steps to use this as a dip?

1. I used 5ml per cup of tank water for 5 min. this product has a very wide margin of error. in other words you could easily use 10ml per cup for 10 min and probably be fine, but there is no need to go that strong with this stuff. 2. for what you get and what you are using it for, it is a very inexpensive and easy to find product with NO bad oder! 3.I will use this product for all my preventative dips from now on 4. VERY IMPORTANT- I would recommend a quarantine tank when dipping with this product and would dip at least 3 different times since you are going through the effort. The reason I recommend a quarantine setup is because this is very powerful stuff and even TRACE amounts will be harmfull to all Crustaceans (arthropods, amphipods,ETC.) 5. If using as a dip, wear gloves while handling and dipping corals OR wash hands very well after done and BEFORE you put corals back in tank. also have at least a couple of different fresh tank baths set up to rinse well before you put corals back in tank. 6. My conclusion: This product is very effective, cantbeatthepricefor the job it does, is not harmful even at short high does to corals, and the only downside i see right now is that it will Kill ANY crustacean it comes in contact with

Duke that's the one I have. I set up 4 bowls with tank water. 1 I add bayer the other 3 are for rinse. U just have to make sure you rinse completely. First time I did it my blue stag slimed up so much it looked like snot. Lol

henry thats the thread im talking about thats all over the place on dosage. why cant anyone put on there a run down of dosage for each bayer product used effectively. there is like 10 different people saying a dosage they use but not all are the same like this
bayer complete insect killer this amount per this many cups
bayer home pest -this amount per this many cups
on reef central they make everything more complicated then it needs to be

All I know is I use 16ml of it to 1 gallon of salt water... Works fine...
From what I read on the threads the going dosage is 4 ml per litre.
1 liter equals a quart (or 4 cups). 4 quarts equals a gallon. 4ml x 4= 16ml.
16ml to a gallon of saltwater or 4ml to 4 cups of sw.... ya dig.

I make a gallon of it and use it when I need it. I keep it in a warm spot.
Impressive stuff. I even have a local shop out here in PA using it as well. loves it.

I've used as much as 40ml per gallon but only dip for 10 minutes. Yet to lose a frag and I've dipped both smooth skinned ('deepwater') SPS and some LPS (Lobos and chalices) this way.
