So I finally got the fish Ive been wanting for the longest ( purple tang ) small about only a inch or so...To discover my 5in yellow tang been harassing him...do I have a problem in my hands?

Like other Tangs, this member of the Acanthuridae family demonstrates territorial aggression towards its own species, or Tangs in general.

Well they are both zebrosoma tangs not acanthurus. Secondly the yellow is already big for a 75trailblazer and it might kill a purple that small.

I wouldve thought since he is so small that the yellow tang wouldn't bother him, I also have a powder blue that doesn't bother any fish in my tank besides my cleaner wrasse...so what should my next step be if this progress

[some people call acanthurus by acanthardie as well. But these 2the tangs are both zebrosoma which will cause a problem more than 2 different families of tangs.

is 75 big enough for a purple tang?

Get rid of the purple tang unless u have a 100 bucks to donate to the toilet or get rid of the yellow but since the yellow is already acclamated to ur tank I would keep the yellow cause u can get rid of the yellow and the purple dies then ur out two tangs

I have a purple, a yellow, a sailfin, powder blue, blond naso and hippo all on the same tank.

I dealt with aggression by putting the bully in the sump for a couple of weeks now they def size each other up occassionally but nothing damaging and none dead.

IMO if you are going to keep a fish in a sump LT might as well sell it or give it away.

i met a guy forgot his name he had alot of uncompatible fish in his tank every time he introduced a new fish he would put mirrors along the whole front of the tank he said it distorts the fish then they get use to each other it works
