Chromis doing strange things

I have blue-green reef Chromis as part of a small, peaceful community tank. A few days ago, one of them developed the habit of spending most of its time swimming vertical, pressed against a corner of the tank. I notice this happens then they just disappear I assume the clean up crew gets them, and this happens to them one at a time to there is no more!

any ideas all the othere fish are fine as well as the corals.

The fish dont look beat it just dont want to school anymore and goes off to die??

Is this unique to your chromis? What other fish do you have in the tank?

I have a friend that had the same problem with chromis. He always bought at least 5 of them and they would die off one by one. Someone said that it was a disease that affects just chromis. I cant remember the name tho.

IMO they are "piscicidal" (homicidal fish)

+1, I've experienced them killing each other off one by one many times. Although, I finally got lucky and Bought 10, 1 died in the first week, and the remaining 9 has been living well for about 5 months now.

Sorry Rob, but that's not nearly enough evidence of success. Six months survival with only three chromis is just a random sampling. Good luck with yours, hope your success continues.

I started with 5 dubbed the Jackson 5 as they were different sizes for about a year. Michael disappeared now I have 4 and they constantly chase each other. They tend to behave if you have a more dominant fish in the tank with them. My hawkish kept them at bay.

So what if i only want one? Will he pick himself off? Or die cause he's alone and scared? Which would be ironic considering he would assasinate any other chromis i would add.
