Hi guys. This is really really weird. I turn off my skimmer for 2 hours and put in some bacteria as I do once a month, and when I turn it on, its overflowing like crazy! All I did was turn it off, then back on again, and its overflowing like never before! I've taken it apart, inspected the pump, and everything looks perfectly ok. My polyps on all my corals are hidden and the water is starting to get murky.

Any quick help is greatly appreciated.

What kind of bacteria did you add?
Could it have been tainted in some way? (previously opened and now is dead bacteria?)

Is the murky water you mention due to the skimmer being off , or the bacteria you added?
If so, I would do a water change asap and get fresh carbon into the tank asap.

Are the fish behaving normally?

Water shouldn't be murky just from turning the skimmer off. Sounds like the bacteria and the skimmer is pulling it all out. Why would you add bacteria anyway? Try running the skimmer for a little while and see if it settles down. Or try adjusting it if you can.
