Is 4 x24w T5 HO over kill for a tank measuring 20x20x15 Aio? How high up should I hang the fixture? I would like to keep a mix reef softies/lps and very little sps. Also if I go this route whats the best bulb selection/setup to go by?

You'll always have best color with a 6 bulb unit (4 ATI blue plus, 1 6500k, 1 KZ purple)

IMO I would go for the 6 bulb on a 20 deep tank.

You would want to go at least 7-10+ inches above the tank depending on which fixture you choose.

Its only 15" deep J, lol and I was think 4 bulbs might be over kill....

I would still go with the 6 bulb if you have the choice. The 4 will do if you go with a quality fixture if you keep it closer to the tank.

What fixture were you thinking?

Just think this..

Better color combo
Stronger light - clams or Sps if you decide to change
Better if you upgrade
Better for resale.

My new tanks 30 x 22 deep x 19 high.
And I'm running a 6 bulb.

I almost went with the 4 bulb power module and I'm happy I didn't

If I was 12 high or 15 like you I would still go with the 6.

20L X 20W X 20H I have a 4 bulb finnex fixture that I need to change the end caps on(hopefully thats all)... but if it doesnt work afterwards maybe a current/aquaticlife. or if I save up enough ATI..

you will need the 6 bulb to completely cover the tank. You might as well get a higher tank because the light can penetrate much deeper than 15'
If you're going mosty LPS and zoos go LED.
