Wrasse only tank

So I finally setup my tank, haven't added any livestock yet and I'm thinking about doing something different. Has anyone here setup a wrasse only tank? What are your thoughts about that and what wrasses do you recommend? Thanks.

There are a few wrasse only tanks out there, just depends on what wrasses you want and how you add them.

I'm a big fan of them and love them . But since my tank is rimless I'm limited to the 1s I can put in my tank even some that I have I'm taking a chance of them jumping out. But it would be nice to see a tank full of them.

I have a rimless with 4 wrasses in it, but I still have a screen lid. I just take it off when I'm viewing the tank and leave it on when I'm not, even if I'm in the next room it goes on.

What size tank do you have? And try going to liveaquarias site and look through the reef safe wrasse section. There are a few they have listed in their non reef wrasse section that are pretty much reef safe. I prefer the fairy wrasses and then the flasher wrasses. Most flasher wrasses are more aggressive than fairy wrasses. Not all though.

I tried the cover thing on my 57 rimless when I had it cuz I got my self a blue spotted jaw fish. I just couldn't take the look of my tank with a cover so I sold the jaw fish and got rid of the cover.

I wouldn't even attempt to do a cover on my 100 gal rimless thank. I'm just to anal of the clean look.

Also no clue what your price range is. Here are the 5 I have, my leapord wrasse is in a separate tank, but not do to any particular reason other than I wanted a wrasse in my other tank and my first tank is pretty full. I also have a yellow coris, a mystery wrasse but it will most likely be going because it eats my hermits and snails. I also have a true Kwazulu wrasse and a Japanese Lunate Fairy. Those last 2 are not going to be found very easily.

I just made a screen and it lays on top of the tank. Easy to remove and works

Have you tried the clear tabs and silicone? You cut the lid so it fits inside the tank but with no gaps of course. And you silicone the tabs inside the tank so it holds the lid flush with the top of the glass. I have seen it done a few times but I didn't go that way either. This will be my last rimless ever.

Thanks, looking to spend no more than $150 per fish. I'd like something that won't eat my CUC though. Lol

I have a canopy on my tank and a very fine mesh cover that I fabricated. Hopefully that will work.

At 150 per fish there are some very nice fish out the and the 120 will be plenty for 2-3 nice pairs of them. Some of my favorites are the 8 line flashers a more peaceful flasher wrasse. Get a male female combo. The hooded fairy pair is nice, as well as a flame wrasse pair. I unfortunately had to get rid of my 8 lines to the fact my mystery and Kwazulu would not leave them alone.

I have a ton of different fairy wrasses in my 120g. One thing I will advise you to do is to buy male/female pairs. Some male wrasses will lose all their colors with no female in the tank. It happened to me. I just added some females that I got from (Sonny) reef fixation today. Hoping my males get their color back. A few of them turned a dark blue color.

And make sure you have a net cover/screen on top. They jump like crazy..
