So I was working 8am to 11pms the last ten days so didn't see much of the tank. I then noticed some of my fish had died. A powerjet had fallen down and blown open the sandbed 8 inch) down to the plenum. Lost some corals and most of the fish, snails and shrimps. (I know it sucks bigtime) Anyhow after many many water changes I have gotten the Nitrate slowly to reduce although it has not gone completly (I am still doing water changes and the skimmer has finally slowed down somewhat.) My question is would the spike have killed the live rock thus making it useless as a filter system? And hsould I replace it. FYI my clownfish was the only one to survive. (Again it sucks)
