Need Help with calcium reactor

I have a aquaEuroUSA calcium reactor 135 and I cant figure out if I need a feed pump or not. The instructions dont tell whether or not and just says stick the feed hose 2 inches in the sump water. Can someone plz let me know if they have had this reactor? ???

looks like the pump will start the siphon from the diagram. But I've never set one up to be sure.
