Who can service an acrylic tank

I have a tenecor 135 gallon hexagon reef ready tank that's euro braced. The front glass has a bunch of very light scratches from previous owner using a mag float. I need someone who knows how to buffer the scratches. pm me

It's actually relatively easy to do. They sell kits to do it and there are vids on YouTube that show you by people that have had to do it as well.

that's what i kept being told but I'm not sure if I wanna take the chance. And also the tank has a eurobrace with 2 small slots on the left and right side of the tank. So it would be hard to actually get into the tank to buff it out

I understand being nervous but you just need to take your time and itll come out fine.

I attempted this with that kit about 9 years ago and let's just say it didn't turn out well

It can be done, BUT, it takes a LOT of time and patience.
IMO , you might have to pay over $100 in labor for an 'average' (not excessively damaged) repair.

yea the quotes that I've gotten so far are ridiculous. $125 per hour

i went thru this with my 150. if i could start over, i would fill tank with tap water let bubbles settle out and then see if scratches are noticeable. they look a lot different with water. i figured i'll just refinish it before i fill it. well big mistake and i was warned. i researched first, tried novus 2 part polish didn't do much. i ended up wet sanding starting at 400 grit in steps to 2400 by hand then polishing with a wheel and polish. a lot of work. looks great but i have a problem cleaning algae almost like acrylic is pourus but not to the naked eye.

It's very easy, I did it, took me a saturday afternoon. Acrylic looks so much better then glass and is a lot easier to move seeings it is only 1/3 the weight of glass.
