You know how people say that corals are fully exposed during low tide? Well I had to see for myself so I found a few images online. Thought some of you might be interested to see. If you have any similar pics, please post away.

that second shot kind of throws out the theory that starfish should never be exposed to air. unless that's species specific.

I think you're right Jonathan, must be species specific. Found this morsel of info:

Ochre Sea Stars - "
These animals can be exposed to the air for up to 50 hours if they are in the shade or among moist algae."

the second pic looks like the star fish on the jetty's in oregon. when i was at my dad i saw them. the anemones curl into themselves. the stars are all over the jetty on the shady side. i had some pictures of them somewhere.

i went t0 joNes beaCh once and saw HUNDREDS of starFishes exposed to air... dunn0 iF tHey made it, but tHey were aLL oVer tHe pLace

it is only certian star fish. your linkia stars are air sensative and also shouldn't be touch with bare hands because of the oils on your hands.
