heat question.

How can I save my tanks heat? I have wrapped w blacker. I've been boili.g water n putting into bags in the tank. I've taped hand earners which I don't think worked to the tank. My temp is gery low n I csn tell the fish r stressed. I live in long beach ny. I'll prob have 100% loss.

I'm at 65 degrees. All my fish are still alive but acting very stress. It's only a matter of time before they go.

Take water out of the tank and heat it up so that its warm and pour it back into the tank. I did this for hours to get my tanks back up to temp and even alittle higher to compensate so it will be warmer. Take all your big pots and use all your burners. I got about 4gallons each time I did this. Also mixed in fresh saltwater each day. I was successful on my small tank. I lost some fish on my big tank more due to water quality

How many you got left? Anyway my power came this afternoon so my tank is alittle dirty but fish seem to be doing alright. If you can get to me I will hold your fish until your ready. I live in valley stream, 11581. I have no gas and can't get anywhere. I will probably be up for alittle bit

I wish you guys were closer so that I could help hold your livestock...it sounds like you're doing all the proper things...considering the circumstances. I'd also do what fireshark02 is suggesting...just keep an eye on your salinity while doing so

Edit: Forgot to add that you don't want your temps jumping in either direction too rapidly...so be careful. Keep your heads up...MR is behind you guys! Sorry for your losses and keep trucking on for what's left...

Its the least I can do for a fellow reefer. I know what it feels like to lose your favorite fish and corals. Its an expensive hobby and if I can help somebody I definitely will. This goes for anybody in the 11581 area that needs help. Just send me a pm. Definitely listen meangreeneyes, when you boil water it evaporates alittle and after awhile it will add.

I boil the tank water. Boiled water in bags in laid in the tank I duck taped hand warmers. I had a air bubble thing that died today. I came hone from work and everthing was dead. I finally got this tank to work right. Got all the right stuff. Which was years in the making. The tank so cold it doesnt read a temp. I live in long beach. I'm not getting power any time soon. Tomorrow ill have to tear it apart which sucks. becuz i dont have water.to clean it out so my apt will smell like a tank.. just a sad day. I ad 5 fish n they aill died today....
