I have a tub of live rock soaking that i got from someone...
there are bristleworms in the rock.. anyway to get rid of the worms before
i put them into my tank..?

Most bristleworms are beneficial hitchhikers in a reef aquarium. Do some research on them before deciding to eradicate them; it'll be a nearly impossible job in any case.

I read up a bit on Bristle worms and from what I gather they can be more destructive then helpful in some cases. From most things i read a six line Wrasse will take care of the problem.

I had a bristleworm that was about 7" and other smaller ones but I bought the Wrasse and have only seen one small one since. Also if you have tongs and gloves and some free time make the room the tank is in pitch black for about 10-15 mins, when they come out VERY carefully grab them with the tongs and rid them that way use a not so bright flash light and youll get them, just make sure you wear glove as from what i heard their little bristles release and if it gets in your skin youll feel like your on fire!

Be careful either way!

Another way to get rid of them, since you are currently soaking LR in a tub is to elevate the rock off of the bottom (6 inches should be fine) with eggcrate. Place food on the bottom of the container, in a mesh bag or something and weigh it down. Critters will leave your rock to get the food and won't be able to get back to the rock. You will be able to pick out what you don't want. This also works for mantis shrimps.
