Return pump problem

Hey guys. A quick question, when my return pump is dying how do I know if its fixable or what. I purchased a triton 3 deep blue. Only had it three months and it tripped my electric off twice. And when I inspected it, the rotor turns but when I place it back in my sump again it's like it doesn't have power to push water up and the rotor seizes. Any help would be appreciated.
