Actually I used two Bio-Spira bottles in my 120g set-up and have nothing but positive feedback about this product. Just my 2 cents.

BioSpira works and I have used it on many tanks that I have setup in the past, both salt and fresh water. It is a great product.

I've used it to help seed tanks before, I think it does help speed up the cycle some, but as far as working as advertised saying its safe to add fish immediately no way I'd ever add fish with the test results I've had after using it.

Yes, it's a pretty old thread. Bio-Spira is a nitrifying bacteria, so the bacteria needs a source of ammonia, the shrimp, to multiple. You can add both at the same time, it really doesn't matter.

Thanks, and for the record I am not looking to stock this tank tomorrow lol Im fine waiting it out, I just want a SOLID foundation or immune system or whatever you call the tanks homeostasis.

These products, like Bio-Spira, do work, and let you add fish right away, but what they do is produce a lot of nitrates, converting over the ammonia and nitrites. This is OKfor fish but not for corals.

OK, I thought this bottle was a concentrated source of the live bacteria found on live rock and live sand. I def don't want to add anything that will harm corals because I spent a long time tearing down the original setup and starting from scratch and aquascaping this for both corals and fish to be happy.
