Zoo med t5 actinic bulbs!!!

Here before and after picture of my 120 gallon reef tank with mostly SPS original light combo was 4 ATI blue +1 KZ purple+ 2 ATI coral + 1ATI aquablueplus . So I took out the aquablueplus and installed zoomed Actinic 420 not bad for an inexpensive bulb!!

You mean aqua blue special? The actinic bulb that you just installed is not making that much of a difference dude. If you don't believe me take out the new actinic bulb and see what the tank looks like. The aquablue special is primarily a 14,000k bulb...which is why getting rid of it makes your tank look more blue (the other bulbs are taking over)

So just wanted to update after awhile the zoomed did not last at all gave good color to corals tips but .. Now it doesn't power up anymore so got ulv actinic and so far good tips n some corals are getting wild colors

Now out of all curiosity... did you check the wattage of that bulb before installing it?
IIRC that bulb is only rated at normal T5 output which is much less wattage whereas a T5HO bulb is rated for higher outputs.. (ex. 36" T5 normal output 28w vs 36" T5HO @ 39W and soforth) Which means you were overdriving that bulb which would have caused short term failure.

of course zoo med has HO t5 bulbs only!! it's coralife that has NO output t5 adn Ho t5 I use 54 watts bulbs only ! the actinic is only making some color pop out more not making the tank brighter for sure ! of course that the blue+ made the tank look more blue once I took the aqaublue special out !! next bulbs I will trying out are aqualitc life they claim also to have made in Germany bulbs !
