Removing sand from fugue?

I have about 2-3 inches of sand currently in my fugue that has been in there for about 11 months is it ok to remove it all at once during a water change?

Hmmm I would suck a little out during each wc just to b safe

I did it to mine and was fine. sand collected to much detrius couldnt take it anymore
