Considering Red Sea Max - Showrooms in Manhattan?

It seems like a great way to get started in salt water.

My concerns are:

Can my second floor walk up rental support either system in terms of weight. It's kind of an old building. How do I find out?

Should I go for the 250 or 130 if cost is no object. My only concern with the 250 is that it will be so much more massive it might look cartoonish in my living room.

Are there show rooms in Manhattan I can go to where I can check both out?

Some LFS have them on display. Red Sea tanks are heavy and are very modern looking. Solid tanks.......

The RSM250 is only 38"x21"

They seem to give a measurement of stand and aquarium. I think you need to add the height of the two together?

If you put it against a load bearing wall it should be fine as long as there is no feeling of floor bending/creaking etc when you walk over it

Exterior walls are load bearing walls, but not all exterior walls are the same for tank placement. What you want to do is orient the tank perpendicular to the floor beams on an exterior wall. That will give you the best load transfer and reduce 'bounce'.
