Guys, Emergency help requested.

OK here's the deal. My thread was originally about a toadstool leather I got the other day. It's completely limp. Now there is an even dire emergency:

The GBTA I got the other day, along with the mated maroon clown fish has completely gone limp and deflated. It was just up and fine like two minutes ago. Just so you know, I got the anemone knowing it wasn't at 100%, It was more of a buy mated clown fish and get GBTA free. It's been in my tank since Tuesday, seemed to be doing fine, it even ate a piece of silverside last night.

Now the toadstool never really opened from Tuesday, It kind of curled up from the bag to acclimation to the tank. It kind of bleached yesterday and I came home to find it limp.

Here are tank specs as of this evening (please note Thursday night is my usual WC night):

• SG 1.025
• nitrate 10ppm(this seems to be the lowest I can get it)
• nitrite 0
• ammonia somewhere between .00 & .25ppm
• ph 8.2
• Ca 440ppm
• alk 3.25 meq/l
• Tank temp is like 83

P.S. Since I moved the tank upstairs my skimmer hasn't been skimming. I went from a cup every other day, to pretty much nothing. Sunday will be two weeks. The skimmer is one of the bigger EuroReefs, can't remember model#.

Well im no expert but ammonia should be at 0 at all times or you will have some issues, as far as the GBTA, i have been noticing alot of issues over the past couple months with these things, whats going on????

Leathers are reefs greatest pouters, give it some time in med flo and it should be ok. The Anemone may just be going to the bathroom, keep an eye on it it may be getting ready to move as well or it could be sick. the only way to know is by watching it. I have had anemone's go from inflated to completely deflated to looking fine in a few minutes.

Seems like thre are many factors that are affecting it - BUT temp is a really good culprit this time of yuear and 83 is pretty high especially if you've been running it at 79 all year long

It's a combination of just moving the tank and setting everything up again. It's possible you're going through a small cycle as you do have some ammonia in the tank.

A lot of times when you move a tank, taking out all the corals and rocks, and setting everything up again it takes a while for the system to get back to normal and your corals may surfer for a while.

You nitrates are high which could be die off from moving and setting up the tank. You probably want to do a # of water changes to get them down.

The anemone seems to have "re-inflated", Its mouth is a bit bigger than normal though, about 3/4" diameter, as opposed to the 1/4" before.

I can't seem to get the nitrates down below 7-8ppm. There is a sponge filter in the overflow. This one is a necessity. The overflow on the AGA is way to loud without it. More importantly, the overflow bulb gets sucked in the down pipe and stops drainage completely. This sponge gets a good rinsing weekly.
