Can some-one point me in the right direction on how to position my power-heads in my tank.
I have a 55 gal with 3 MJ-1200's & looking for the best flow instead of making alot of disturbance.

Thanks in advance.

Could you post a picture of your tank? It would help alot to see what you have coral-wise and your rock structure.

3 MJ 1200 is going to be alot of directed flow, unlike Tunze streams. So you would need to be careful where you point them.

I have a 55 AGA and have 3 MJ's in it along with the Mag 7 return from my sump... (yeah I know it's alot for a mix of softies and easy SPS)

Anyway, I have 1 MJ at both back bottom corners both pointing at about 45 degrees towards the center front glass. Each of these are also pointed slightly upward to avoid my sand from flying everywhere. The third is up high in the back corner pointing diagonally across the tank making turbulence on the top of the water for better evaporation. This seems to work fairly well for me.

The only other advice I can give is that if you place the MJ's in the lower corners and stack rock around them to hide their apperence like I did, make sure you place/wedge a small piece of rock under the MJ so if the suction cups come off the pump doesn't go anywhere... took a few sand storms and alot of rock moving for me to figure this out. Good Luck.
