just curious does an mp40 slow down after a period of time? i use to run it at 70% and it was more then powerful but the flow has seemed to die down and i am now running it basically at full power. is it because theres algae growing on it? i haven't cleaned it yet but i plan to soon, but i wouldn't think that would slow it down this significantly?

you need to clean the mp40 at least every 6 to 8 weeks. it will burn the motor out with all the algae growth

Algae on the blades can certainly slow it down. More rotating mass and the pump becomes less efficient as the flow pattern over the blades is changed. The bearings in your wet sides will thank you.

I noticed that mine wasn't churning the water as they did when they were new. I cleaned them up and there was a considerable difference. Running like it's brand new now.

why are there so many smart mouths on this forum like yourself? why am i lazy because i asked a question to get a response last night before i went to bed? my bad and i have seen that video before because i have researched it, but he is not explaining what he is doing, yes i can probably follow the video but i was looking for something instructional so i don't over tighten the propeller or do something wrong. no reason for the smart remark following the help buddy
