I have a question about pool hose. I purchased some and didn't think it would fit onto my drains (didn't try heating it first) so I cut the cuff off and it won't work like that. Turns out that the other pieces did fit if I heated the cuff. So I am two drains short. I have the section of hose leftover without any cuff on it. Rather than order a new piece can I just purchase new cuffs and if so what kind I see threaded and non threaded. Also can I use silicone or something similar to make sure it doesn't leak?

Here is what it looks like:

I think you would be taking an awful chance using silicone to attach a 'cuff' to pool hose. Remember silicone isn't a glue and if the hose leaks you will have a major flood.

IMO while pool hose is handy to use due to it's flexibility, those ridges inside will slow down the flow of water to your sump and they also trap debris.

You would be better served if you used Spa-flex hose instead as it can be glued and with the proper adapters it will fit onto fit your drains.

Just something to consider :)

Thanks I have spa flex but cant use it as it isnt flexible enough. I see I can order cuffs but am not sure if the threaded ones are the correct ones. Or if I should just order a whole new piece.

I have tons of flex pvc but it isn't flexi enough for my needs. I ordered the threaded cuffs. Says to twist them on with silicone. I will give it a shot and report back.
