I have two 4 stage RODI units (both are 75 GPD)

One of the units is hooked up in one of my bathrooms, and when it runs, it has a pressure of 80 psi.

The other unit is hooked up in my upstairs bathroom, and when it runs, it has a pressure of 40 psi.

My question is, do both RODI units produce the same quality water even though one is running at a lower psi (40)?

Both units release 000 TDS water, and both produce the same "slippery" waste water.

I would assume that the only major difference is the GPD, but other than that is the water quality the same?

Thanks.

Yes, the water quality is the same the only difference is the rate at which the water is being produced. I have an RO unit from the Filter Guyz and Jim (owner) told me that is fine and that my unit is supposed to run safely without damaging the membranes at up to 150 psi. Mine runs at 110 - 110 psi with a booster pump and haven't had a problem. Hope this helps.

Oh cool, thanks. Btw just curious, whats your GPD at 110 psi?

There are some trade-offs in how your membrane performs at those two pressures:
1. As mentioned above, at low pressures you'll get a higher waste to permeate ratio
2. At 40 psi your membrane won't clean the water as well and you'll end up going through DI resin a bit faster on the low pressure unit.

Filmtec membranes for instance are rated up to 300 psi. The weakest component in your system in terms of ability to withstand pressure however is not the membrane - its the clear housings. So hopefully you have your booster pump plumbed in AFTER the prefilter housings.
