the strangest part is that it was encased in this clear jelly like substance against the rock? That is the best way I can describe it. Does anyone know what this is or if it killed my clown or is it bacteria eating away at it?

Nope no wrasse, clown is the only fish and yes I saw a big white growth on the clowns head quite a few days ago which I posted about in here. Also when I say jelly I mean it was like a ball of jelly bigger than the clown and the clown was in the middle.

The best way I can think to describe it is it looked like it was inside a jellyfish lol....that is what the substance reminded me of.

I used the dead piece of shrimp trick to kickstart a cycle in one of my old tanks, and this happened to the piece of shrimp (it took a week though). I think when things deteriorate in water they look like this, but this seems awful fast for that kind of deterioration to grow. Got a picture? I suppose you removed it already.
