Has anyone kept these successfully?What's the secret?

Plenty of food variety, feed at least twice a day, no aggressive tank mates, make sure they are eating at the lfs. Also make sure it has the top streamer, it doesn't have to be full length but it needs to be there.

also a large tank for swimming room.....i would think at least a 6' 125+ gal would be better for them.

+1 on the variety but try Black worms, they love them.

After talking to quite a few people that have kept them for more than 3 years, it seems that the ones bought without the streamer seem to die a short time after purchase. I would guess the ones without it are sickly already and won't last long in the tank.
