Hi everyone hope all of you are well. I was wondering when I buy live rock and I get hitch hikers on them is it a bad thing to have in tank. Still planning on 150 gallon tank, still reading the reef aquarium volume 3 book is good hardcover so many pages and topics on hobby. My tank I plan on will be reef ready, studying plumbing cause something I need to setup easy to maintain. But anyways what should I know about hitch hikers before I go and get live rock. Any tips, advice, suggestions, comments please feel free to reply like to read on somones exsperiance with critters, also looking at a good cuc. Happy reefing

All depends what they are. Most are good, some are bad- if you get a crab that looks like a green emerald crab but his claws are black tiped, get him out, it's called a gorilla crab. I've heard of some getting mantis shrimp but very few do.

Out of all the live rock I have bought the only undesireable was one of those crabs and I removed him.

But you usually get a ton of good things such as

pods
bristleworms(don't touch with fingers- you'll regret it BIG TIME)
brittle stars
sponges
feather dusters

Just to mention a few, there are others that are great also
