HOB protein skimmer

Im thinking about purchasing a protein skimmer for my 30 gallon. Is having a HOB risky in that water/ gunk etc.. may spill all over my floor?

I wouldn't get that skimmer. If I were you I would invest into an Aquamaxx hob-1. if you are worried about skimmate coming out, the aquamaxx hob-1 has a drain that allows the skimmate to pour right back into the skimmer if it overflows. or you could rig it up to a waste collector .

Eshopps, aquaC-remora, Tunze, reef octopus all have great HOB skimmers. They are much more costly than the one you posted however they are 100x better.
