Tangs..

Is a 24"x24"x12" Tank suitable for housing a tang (My guess is no)? 24"x24"x24"? What would be an acceptable footprint or amount of swimming space?

Sailfin, powder blue, yellow, or purple..

75G and over but of course till they reach a limit. They would need more swimming space to swim around.

Your guess is correct - no.
Tangs are swimmers - ideally a 6 foot long (or longer) tank.
Many folks will keep a tang in a 120 (48 x 24 x 24), but 6 foot is better.

I assume you are only talking about housing 1 tang - not multiple tangs?

Yes just one. I saw a few members on other forums with similar tanks that kept tangs. their justification was minimal rockwork and later upgrading or giving away the fish when it gets to big. I would rather make the better rational decision. Thanks for the input!

I would go with a min of 120 gal. With minimal rockward however you might be able to house one of the smaller tangs such as a kole tang.

You can do a kole in a 75g, but 24" would not be enough for any tang. The tang would get stressed.
