ACJr or ApexJr? Personally, I would opt for the ApexJr over the RKL. I have the RK2, RKL, Profilux and just added an Apex (all still running except the Profilux). Digital Aquatics has fell short the past 2 years...

Thanks, yea I'd love to get one of the more expensive units, just not in the budget for the foreseeable future. Maybe with the "dream tank"

The Apex Jr is $150 and comes with 4 outlets, temp sensor, and web interface.

The RKL is +/- $120 and comes with 4 outlets, a temp sensor, but no Internet.

The Apex Jr at the $150 price point does not come with display but it's not really necessary with Internet control.

+1. With the web interface and smartphone/tablet control, I barely use my Apex display. Ready to box it up and shelve it until needed ie. troubleshooting

depending on your budget, just go with what will fill your needs within your means. both are just glorified timers.

I disagree. I don't know about the Reefkeeper but the Apex will Text or Email you if things are off. ie Temp or pH. That really gives peace of mind and the ability to fix things from your phone or just check on the tank. I would say it's more than a glorified timer.

I always have to add my $.02 for those looking for a controller on a budget.

Check out the ReefAngel. It's a quality unit with more features than both Jr/lite models and it's a full Arduino board that you can program to do anything, so it's much more than a glorified timer. :)

After seeing someone's Apex "config" the other day, I have to say, that the RA has got to be just as easy to configure and with a simple Wizard to perform 99% of anything you might want to do.

I'm always willing to answer any questions and the RA forum and customer support are fantastic. :D
