currently my sump has the under-over-under type set up but i would really prefer the over-under-over. my return chamber gets a film @ the top of the water(even w/ skimmer and sock). i guess i will add another baffle so the water will go over it. hopefully it will create more disturbance in the water and won't allow for film to build up @ the surface

Over under Over. The reason for this is so that the bubbles can rise to the top twice and be released. With under over under you have contact time to the surface only once and the remaining bubles now get released at the bottom of your sump and will most likely get suck into your pump and released into the tank.

The way the bubbles get out of the water is by reaching the surface and popping. The more times the water column in the baffles reach the surface the more bubbles get released out of the water column. Starting with and end with a baffles that is on the bottom of the sump will achieve maximum bubble release. :)
