This question to anyone who kept or still keeping sea horses.
Few days ago I had rescue a sea horse from someone who did not know anything about aquarium.
This person was about to place the little pony in the fresh water from the tab.
Now I have an obligation to save the little creature.
Can anyone suggest how to convert sea horse to frozen food and does anyone knows what and where I can get live food for sea horse?
The pony is about 6" long.
I will really appreciate your advice because I hate to see the little guy go to waste.

Some places sell brine shrimp live I know the petland near me does....best bet is to get some brine shrimp for now and order eggs

But start them on live brine, then mix live and frozen, then frozen only, then other frozens....they probably will never touch flakes/pellets....

They need to be fed a minimal of 3x a day....never had sea horses but ive done my research

If this is a 6" Seahorse, as you said, don't bother hatching brine shrimp -- it will ignore them -- too small. Your best bet for a temporary quick live food is live feeder guppies -- have your LFS pick small ones for you. But keep trying the frozen Mysis -- try both Hikari and PE brands -- that's all I feed my Seahorses.

Where did this Seahorse come from? If locally caught, it must be suffering from temperature shock -- going from local water to a fish tank has got to be a huge temperature difference.

Feel free to call me for more info -- I have a lot of experience with them. I'll be home today after 5pm. 516-731-5844.

By the way, the "little guy" is a girl!

Thanks to everyone and specially to George. This "guy" girl came from Florida's intercostals. Someone cot it in the net and wanted to place in the jar at home here in NY. I recue the little girl from immediate death but worry it will starve if I will not find her food as soon as possible.
George, I will take you up on your offer and will call you tonight.

She's gorgeous! I had two for a while they had babies every few months. Yes keep the tank cool as they said. Also try feeding them some amphipods and copepods (If you can find them), I have some I can give you from my tank. Im in Brooklyn. Live mysis are hard to come by. There is a petland discounts on 9th ave near 50th street has live brine. Also Brooklyn Zoo & aquarium should sell live brine shrimp. Keep a close eye on her and if she does not eat maybe you should give her to someone with horses and seeing them eat will help her. Good luck.

I did not want this beauty to die and decided to give her-up to someone I know who keeps sea horses for number of years.
He sent me a picture today. So it's all good. Good luck my little pony.
