Same here. I ordered one and it cracked on the way to the LFS. Huge, broken mess along the bottom. I've seen a few that were running long term and they were starting to swell.

They're made of press board. They'll never be great but if they never get wet they won't swell. <--- this is sarcasm before a certain jerk$@f decides to make a dumb comment.

If you really wanted to brace it you could do a 1X4 front to back on the top between the crapppy front support to the back of the stand utilizing pocket holes and L shaped metal brackets. I'd personally if you haven't set up the tank yet buy a majesty stand or other solid wood stand.

I don't know about the 40 breeder stand size having a side door, but the larger ones do. You could call marineland and ask them. I have never seen a Majesty stand that small. I would use a metal stand and skin it with plywood, you can use earth magnets pressed into the plywood to stick the plywood on. I will post pics of what I'm doing in the next few weeks. I had a custom metal stand built for my 120. I have a brand new oceanic wood stand that is just as nice as the Majesty stand, but I wanted more access and I had a custom ATO container built as well.

I bought a used setup - 120 deep blue tank and stand. When I filled it up with tap to test my plumbing I notice it would slight sway with the tiniest push, let alone when my kids went running by. Made me really nervous and I knew I would not sleep easy if I left it like that. So after it was drained, I braced the inside of the stand with 1x3's and some pieces of ply. It was really easy and is solid as a rock now. I did lose a little bit of interior space but I only use the stand for storage. Not sure if reinforcing one side will be enough. I can post pics of it later today if you are interested in seeing what I did.

Saw some deep blue stands today at a store bigger ones and ma they are wobbely on the 90 gal how can that company trust that stand with that much weight. I took it apart and put some tight bond in some of the seams andd added more screws from the bottom and much sturdier after i get my sump ill add a cross brace ill drill through and add stainless bolt with washers and nuts so i can take it out if need be.i saw a majesty stand really nice but i couldnt fit it into my car i will get one in the future and keep the chiller in the deep blue mabe add a frag tank in the future but its is shured up now thanks for the help everyone im getting closer to getting the tank up and running just gotta get sump, lighting and skimmer..I cant wait, after going to aquarium village and seeing all the tanks I can see this reef keeping is going to be another obsession, fishing ,rod building ,now fishtanks i dont know why im even on land.

I've got a deep blue stand for the smaller 30g frag tank, but for the 60g I have it on the Marineland Monterey 48"x24. Price was more than twice as much but much more sturdy and looks better. The Monterey has side panels on each side for access to the sump area if needed.

The tank is very solid right now with water in it. No sway at all. Hope it helps. Let me know if you have questions.
