So im upgrading soon to the 300 gallon im setting the tank in a wall and having a wood stand built .do I need to put anything between the tank and the stand.like masonite or foam ? The top of the stand will have a peice of 3/4" plywood .I called marineland to ask them and they told me they cant recommend anything to me since im not using there stand

i never put anything under neat any of my tanks as a matter a fact i cut out the ply so that light can go from my dt to my sump but that idea didnt live so long i dont like bare bottom thing

Just to be sure, we are talking here about tanks that has a bottom trim. Those do not need any support on the bottom. Rimless tanks, however, benefit from foam cushion to eliminate any weak points such as sand grains or imperfections in the stand surface

DONT put anything under the tank..
All glass tanks are supported from the right and left sides only

Big mistake if u put plywood under

GL with the setup,,its an awesome tank

Plywood is fine under a tank, I have had tanks running for 15 years straight with plywood. If I were using a marineland wood stand I would not use plywood, but any metal stand or homemade wood stand I wouldn't think twice about using it. As a matter of fact I just put plywood under my new 120 that I'm setting up now.
