Is is just me or is my brand new mag7 obnoxiously loud. I had a mag 12 on my last set up but I don't remember it being this loud. Wtf.

Do you have it on the foam they provide? I've found pumps tend to quiet down after a week or two once everything breaks in. That said, my eheim is silent. If I didn't see water coming from my return, I wouldn't know it was on.

Strangely mine didn't come with foam. I'll give it a week or two and if it doesn't quiet down I'm switching to an ehiem. I just wasn't sure if this was an isolated issue to me

mine didnt come with foam either and it is loud when u first start it up. got an annoying rumble to it. quieted down after a week

Is the noise coming from the pump itself or is it vibrating against the surface it is sitting on? A mouse pad or small piece of bubble wrap underneath it might help?

I have a mag 7 and its quiet... maybe after yours breaks in.

I used an extra computer mouse pad under my mag7. Quiet as can be.

It has quieted down quite a bit. Still pretty loud. Will see after I get back from Georgia next week what it's like. Thanks everyone for the input
